Mary Hill Elementary is your local school from K-7. Its found at 1890 Humber Crescent Port Coquitlam (604)942-0264 along with Kilmer Elementary School located at 1575 Knappen St. Port Coquitlam (604)941-3401. Kilmer Elementary has a side entrance to the school grounds from Taylor St and Pooley Avenue and behind both schools is an area for sports play, some walking trails and playgrounds for the smaller ones to burn off some energy.

Attached to Kilmer Elementary School ground through trails is Thompsn Park. Thompson Park can be found at 1842 Morgan Ave and is a 5.3 Hectare Park approximately. Named after Mike Thompson, a former mayor, the park features a soccer field, several baseball diamonds and public washrooms. Some very competitive balls games happen here so make sure your bring you’re A-GAME if you’re looking to win here.

For an outdoor picnics in the summer and brisk walks amongst the trees there is Sitka Spruce park located just a couple blocks from Mary Hill Elementary at 1700 Shaughnessy St. It’s a beautifully forested 4.8 Hectares of greenspace. In behind the park is a the Traboulay PoCo Trail which stretches 25km long and is popular amongst the locals who live here and tourist from out of town. The trail is incorporated throughout the entire community and features forested areas, creeks, meadows, riverfront and some artistically designed urban development. The trail is great for bikers, joggers and hikers with medium, to low grades.
