Connaught Heights is located just North of the Queensborough Bridge.  A convenient and energetic place to live for professional individuals who may have to commute either south to the Fraser Valley, or West into Richmond or Vancouver. The local school in the area is small community based school named Connaught Heights Elementary School which is located at 2201 London St New Westminster (604)517-6010. It’s a great school which teaches grades Kindergarten to grade 7.

Detached homes in this New Westminster area are priced at approximately $600,000 – $700,000 for older homes on pieces of land that are 4,000-6,000 square feet which are ready for some very significant renovations or a rebuild. For around $600,000 – $1,000,000 you can find a very nice older character homes with updates. Some of the older homes in this area will require plumbing and electrical upgrade which can be quite costly and time consuming so it is likely in your best interest to purchase a home which has received these upgrades with permits. For over $1,000,000 you can find some newer recently developed detached homes with views and modern designs and floorplans.

These homes do sell fast however so if you are looking at one right now you may want to call and book an appointment to see it right away. Modern newer developments in the area don’t come up all too often and can sell the very same it is listed if priced properly.

Being the Connaught Heights is located just off the Queensborough Bridge residents can get themselves over to the Queensborough Landing to some shopping at some the larger outlets offered at the outdoor outlet mall. Here you can find many big name department stores such as Walmart, Guess, Moores and many more. There area also some great restaurants and places to eat here like Nando’s, Boston Pizza and Opa!

All throughout the area of Connaught Heights you can find easy access to public transportation. On almost every main street you can find bus stops with very regular routes which can get you to uptown or downtown New Westminster within 15 minutes. There is also the 22nd Street Skytrain Station which can get you to either Coquitlam, Surrey, Vancover or Richmond (YVR Airport).

A major staple within the community is the Connaught Heights Pentecostal Assembly  located at 2201 Eighth Ave New Westminster. This is an excellent church which is very involved in the community. The church runs excellent youth and adult bible studies as well as sports programs including hockey and bowling.

On Twentieth Street you can find an array of commercial real estate including small unique shops, spas, restaurants, and other small business.  Papa Dave’s Pizza is located at 820 20th New Westminster (604)522-4001 and is local pizzeria that delivers fantastic pizza in the area.
