Burke Mountain has so much to offer. There are breathtaking views which make you feel like you are high up in the wilderness but with conveniences of city living as all your local shopping and amenities are within very close distances Most amenities and shops are located in Central Coquitlam which is Coquitlams commercial core and where you can find anything from fast food to furntiture stores. Central Coquitlam is about a 10-15 min drive from Burke Mountain or less on a Sunday afternoon.

Young families can rest assure that your local Elementary School is near by. Leigh Elementary School, 1230 Soball St. Coquitlam (604) 941-8661, is walking distance for a lot of the homes in this area. There is also a couple of preschools which are in the area and one in particular has had a lot of families enroll their children here to help prepare them for the learning ahead at Leigh Elementary. Burke Mountain Preschool- 1386 Coast Meridian Rd Coquiltam BC (604) 475-5834 is a busy preschool with good reviews and a trustworthy name. Get your children registered right away however as this school has the potential to fill up fast.

Burke Mountain is what used to be a bunch of forested land owned by the provincial government. Eventually the land had gone up for sale and a bunch of new development had started to occur. With amazing views and giant homes nestled into the forest Burke Mountain has been an extremely active real estate market. Not all of the forested area is being open for new development however. Some of the land is still protected by the government where there are  large circuits of mountain trails perfect for hiking or mountain biking. These trails are big however and some of the terrain can be steep or dangerous. People have been known to get lost or injured in these rough backcountry so make sure you plan out your trip before you leave and let someone know where you planned to go.

Burke Mountain is home to some very luxurious higher end homes that come custom designed with all the bells and whistles.
