The lower mainland of British Columbia has some amazing cities and yacht clubs to offer to locals and visitors combined. Yachtsmen and yachtswomen alike can drive only a short distance to sport their days away easily at these local yacht clubs in Vancouver and around the Greater Vancouver area, including Richmond, White Rock, and Port Moody.

 

Yacht Clubs in White Rock

Crescent Beach Yacht Club is located at the Crescent Beach Marina at the western end of White Rock. This is a private members’ club and is usually accepting new members. They have a beautiful view of the Crescent Beach area, nearby islands, and have wonderful food as well.

 

Yacht Clubs in Delta

Ladner Yacht Club has been around since 1958, and is located on the Fraser River near Ladner Village. The club marina accommodates 100 vessels, with about half of that being moored by 50 members at the marina, while the rest of the slips are available to the public for rent.

 

Yacht Clubs in Richmond

Richmond Yacht Club is on the Fraser River (Middle Arm) in Richmond, which is south of Vancouver. This club marina offers moorage in fresh water, reciprocal moorage, a program for both cruising and social outings, and a lounge and clubhouse. Richmond Yacht Club allows both members and guests.

 

Yacht Clubs in Port Moody

For renting yachts, Freedom Boat Club Port Moody is a full service marina where members can reserve a boat online on any particular day they choose, then get in the boat and go (return it and walk away without maintenance/repairs, storage costs, cleaning, or insurance to pay). It is located in eastern Vancouver Harbour, only a several-minute drive from Indian Arm. 

 

Top Yacht Clubs in Vancouver

Royal Vancouver Yacht Club is a reciprocal visitors (with current membership card) and private club. Founded in 1903 (only 17 years after Vancouver incorporated), there are currently over 2,500 members (active, associate, intermediate, post-secondary, & junior members), plus thousands more non-resident, affiliate spouses, special, honorary, honorary life, and life members. The fleet has more than 450 sailing yachts plus over 800 power yachts moored around the Vancouver area, including Coal Harbour and Jericho Stations.

False Creek Yacht Club is in downtown Vancouver and is overlooking False Creek. This is a top class marina with a fantastic clubhouse, great views, and has sailing and power vessels. False Creek has 250 members includes social activities plus water-based structured activities as well.

 

Yacht Clubs in West Vancouver

West Vancouver Yacht Club is known for its cruising and sail education for all ages. They have competition, membership, racing events, and sail programs. 

Eagle Harbour Yacht Club is thought of as a friendly yacht club, and was founded in 1969 as a non-profit. Eagle Harbour provides training and development for members and youth for boating and sailing, as well as promoting competitive sailing with good sportsmanship. 

 

Yacht Clubs in North Vancouver

Burrard Yacht Club is located in North Vancouver and has over 300 members. With both sailing and power vessels (25’-60’ long on average), they have secure moorage, community service and social activities, insurance availability for vessels, boating activities, and reciprocal moorage.
